Hermès Fall 2026 Colors: What’s New for Handbags

The season’s most useful story is not whether five color names are new. It is where Hermès is placing them now—and what that changes for collectors.

Five Hermès color examples arranged together: Granny, Ciel, Vanille, Canari and Vert d’Eau

The five colors associated with Hermès Fall 2026 are easiest to understand by looking at the objects now carrying them. Four appear on the Picotin Lock 18. Vert d’Eau is documented in the current Calvi Duo, while its new-season handbag remains the open question.

Granny — Revived

2012 Hermès Birkin 35 in Granny Swift leather

2012 · Swift Birkin 35

A 2012 Granny Birkin 35 confirms that the vivid green already had standard-leather handbag history.

2026 · Clémence Picotin 18

The shade returns on a relaxed Picotin in supple Clémence—familiar color, distinctly different expression.

Vanille — In Clémence

Vanille matte-alligator Hermès Birkin

Earlier handbag record · Matte-alligator Birkin

Vanille already had a clear handbag identity in exotic skins, including this matte-alligator Birkin.

2026 · Clémence Picotin 18

The meaningful change is a pale Vanille handbag in standard leather: softer, more tactile and easier to imagine as an everyday bag.

Canari — First bag

Hermès Picotin Lock 18 in Canari Clémence leather

2026 · Clémence Picotin 18

The first named Canari handbag we could verify places the saturated yellow on a relaxed Clémence Picotin 18.

Hermès had used Canari as a supporting color within a multicolor marquetry object. On the Picotin, Canari becomes the whole handbag in relaxed standard leather—new placement, new scale and a far more direct expression of the shade.

Vert d’Eau — Current handbag unconfirmed

Vert d’Eau matte-alligator Hermès Mini Kelly II 20

Earlier handbag record · Matte-alligator Mini Kelly

Earlier handbag history includes this matte-alligator Mini Kelly. Christie’s also documented a 2017 Jige Élan clutch in Doblis and Swift.

Current placement · Epsom Calvi Duo

Hermès lists Vert d’Eau among its Epsom Calvi Duo options as of August 2026.

What to ask before sourcing

Focus on the exact object

  • Confirm the model, size and leather—not just the color name.
  • For Vanille, ask whether the bag is Clémence or an exotic skin.
  • For Ciel and other nuanced pale shades, request daylight photographs of the exact piece.
  • For Vert d’Eau, distinguish a current Calvi Duo from a verified current-season handbag.

For sourcing, the model and leather tell you more than the word “new.” A familiar color can look and feel entirely different when its material and silhouette change.
